The Reagan Diaries – pp. 214
A long today, punctuated by a horrible start this morning. Work didn’t start out very well for me, but I overcame it in the end. Came home and watched some TV on DVD. Ate dinner, and not much else, but my evening is drawing to a close. Once again, didn’t work on the story. It’s been a few days now since I have, and it’s really bothering me. I tried to write some while at work, on my lunch break, but the writing mood didn’t strike me. Unfortunately, it usually does late at night, when I need to rest for the next day. If only I didn’t have a day-job.

Didn’t do a damn thing today. Had to get up early (9am). Painters were coming to finish painting the buildings, and they needed to get into the apartment for a couple of minutes to do the doors. After that, waited around for UPS to deliver a package. Went to get my hair cut, but they were too busy, so I went home. Watched some DVR, and DVD. I’m really into Deadwood these days. Played a couple games of baseball on the 360. Jenny got home and we watched “The Good Shepherd”. Neither of us realized it was nearly 3 hours long. I didn’t particularly care for the movie, and I’m pretty sure she didn’t either. Oh well, live and learn, I suppose. Had planned to do a lot more today, but never got around to it. At least it’s a short week (for me). Off on Wednesday for July 4th, then off Thursday and Friday. Will probably skip “Transformers” on the 4th, and see it on the 5th, when there’s less traffic. Looking forward to it, but not expecting it to be very good. Surprisingly, didn’t get too wrapped up in the whole iPhone launch. Went to Blockbuster today, and noticed the extreme absence of people at the AT&T store next door. We’ll see if my predictions pan out, or if I’m wrong, as is customary.
(A bit late) Today was a long day, but fortunately, it’s about to end for me. Got woken up early today. Jenny had a couple of doctors appointments today, and had to go to one this morning. I stayed awake long enough to know she left. Woke up again later, and bummed around on the computer until she got home. Our wedding invitations came in, and we picked them up from the post office today. I’ll get around to printing them soon, maybe even start tomorrow. Those will be mailed by July 20th. Then, went to the Mall to look around a bit, and grabbed a bite to eat. Went to a place called Sam Moon, where we looked at all kinds of stuff. Jenny had seen a messenger bag there she thought I’d be interested in. I didn’t like it, but found a fantastic deal on a Samsonite briefcase I wanted, but it was $80, so it’ll have to wait. Then went to the other doctor’s appointment–the eye doctor. Jenny had to get her eyes examined, and got a temporary pair of contacts. She doesn’t want to be wearing glasses for the wedding (understandable), so she’s trying contacts for awhile. I could never put something in my eye, so I’ll pass. Went to her Grandparents’ house to visit for a bit, before heading home. On the way, we both got hungry, and went to eat dinner. After dinner, I turned on the Astros game on the radio, and heard we were down. Listened as Biggio got hit 2,998. Once we got home, we watched the series finale of Studio 60, which was very good. Later I learned about Biggio’s 3,000th hit, and was mad at myself for not watching the game. Congrats to him though, it’s a huge accomplishment. But now, it’s about time to go to bed. I’ve got a few errands to run tomorrow, too, and want to get up fairly early–again.
Not a bad day. Work went pretty quickly, and I even got some website work done while there, in my downtime. Came home and cooked some frozen pizza, then Jenny and I watched “Shooter” on DVD. I thought it was pretty predictable, and the dialogue was horrible. The acting was pretty bad, too, but it’s to be expected. Jenny thought it was alright. Not a movie I’d highly recommend, and I’m glad I didn’t spend the money to see it in theaters. Didn’t get any writing done again today, but I was detained with other items on the agenda. I hope to write some tomorrow, but we’ll see. I don’t want to lose the rhythm again, and want to continue until it’s finished. Anyway, finishing this, then heading to bed. Have a long day tomorrow.
Long day, though it seemed to fly by. Woke up late, but left early, due to traffic. Made for a hectic morning. Afternoon was better, and when I got home was in good spirits. Went to eat, then grocery shopping. Did okay, and got some true foodstuffs. Means I’ll have to cook dinner more though. Now it’s after 10 o’clock, and I’m exhausted. Writing this short entry, then headed off to shower and bed. No writing done today, didn’t have time, and now it’s too late tonight. I’m a bit disappointed actually. I’m getting very close to the end, and I’m ready to finish it. I’d like to begin working on other writing projects, but can’t bring myself to start until this one is finished. I’m ready to begin the editing process, which for this story should take a long time, due to the length. I haven’t even typed it up yet, but I’m fairly certain it’s going to be more than 50 pages, which will take considerable time to take through drafts. Oh well, such is the price for being creative. The website work is pretty much on-hold. People at work have been encouraging me to use my skills to start my own business, designing sites for couples planning their wedding. It’d be a lot of work though, and it’s not something I’m interested in entertaining right now. Maybe in the future, after our own wedding. Speaking of which, I desperately need to get some work done on THAT site. Details, etc. Anyway, what was intended as a short entry ended up being one of my longer ones, and I’m ready to fall asleep at the keyboard. I’m out.
