The Marriage Blog: Part 5

It’s been a bit more than 3 months since we said “I Do,” but with everything that’s gone on since then, it feels like practically a lifetime ago. That’s not to say that we haven’t enjoyed it–we have.

First was the honeymoon, which we enjoyed immensely. It was a lot of fun traveling to Las Vegas with Jenny, and it was hands-down one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. Ever.

What I Read in 2007: The Year In Review

The year 2007 was an interesting year for reading, personally. In fact, I rather blew through the second half of the year, reading something like 10,000 pages, nearly fifty-percent more than the first half of the year.

This year could be categorized as the year of Jack McDevitt. I read six of his books this year, and have a couple more on my bookshelf waiting. He’s an excellent author, and one that I really enjoy reading. Short of any future novels he releases, I have only three left, at which point I’ll have read all his books. Certainly, I’ll be watching for more from him.

Adventures in Puppyland…

So in case you hadn’t heard, we got a puppy on Friday night (Jan 4th). She’s a six-week old Boston Terrier puppy, and is cute as can be. We’ve got pictures up and our newly-launched photo gallery at just click on the picture icon.

Anyway, she’s quite adorable, and we love her very much. She’s had a few ‘accidents’ on the carpet, but she’s otherwise doing well at becoming housetrained. We’ve made her a little home in our downstairs bathroom, where the tile does a good job of making ‘accident’s easier to clean up. We tried to wait as long as we could to name her, but after watching her suck up food like a vacuum (money, too. We’ve spent a small fortune already on puppy supplies) we decided to name her Kirby, like the vacuum cleaner. Therefore, Kirby Abigail Brown was completely named. She’s AKC registered, or will be once we mail in the papers, and is a gorgeous example of what makes the Boston Terrier such a good dog.
