The Aughts are over, and we move into the 20-teens. A new decade, with new challenges and objectives. With the beginning of this new year, and new decade, it’s time for me to take a look back at the past year, and to reflect on what’s happened, and to look forward to what the new year holds in store for me.
The year 2010 was not a typical year for me, in any way. There were numerous breaks in my reading throughout the year, leading to the first year I haven’t cracked 10,000+ pages in some time. Still, I read some fantastic books, many of which I highly recommend to others.
I read the vast majority of my books this year on my Kindle, and saved myself a pretty penny, too. Though I spent less this year on books than in 2009, the average cost of an eBook rose slightly. Still, it’s a far cry from buying these books at full retail cost. I now have 124 titles in eBook format, out of 424 total titles, which means nearly 1/3rd of my books are in electronic format now. That’s a lot of shelf-space I’m saving.
